What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
From the program, I learned that you could have fun even though when studying can be stressful sometimes. Also, as a student who took General Chemistry in the ISC course, I gained a lot of knowledge from it and now when I'm taking my chemistry class, I'm acing it!

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

I really enjoyed the ISC program this year! Not only did I learn a lot taking the course, but the events like busking, visiting Lotte World, and other Korean experience events were fun and so memorable! I would love to be in the program again if I get the chance. :)

* Host Country Program Administration

He was really fun and good at informing anything about the program. He made the audience enjoy their time, especially mine.

* Housing:

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Even though I'm Korean, I lived in the United States for a long time, so being in Korea for the ISC program was a fun and memorable experience for me. The culture is great, and I felt so comfortable while staying in Korea.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

I didn't need health care.

* Safety:

Compared to my college in America, I felt really safe and didn't worry about anything.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

I really enjoyed the ISC program this year! Not only did I learn a lot taking the desiring course, but the events like busking, visiting Lotte World, and other Korean experience events were fun and so memorable! I would love to be in the program again if I get the chance.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

It was a little bit hard because I had a small budget of money every month, but I used more than I could save.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? I spent about 30,000 won every week.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? You should choose a budget before starting the program, and look around and see what the average cost is for restaurants. The most important thing is to think, 'Is this worth the money?'.

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
How much did the program encourage you to use the language?

0 = No encouragement, 5 = frequent encouragement to use the language

I made some friends that I could speak Korean freely so I became very comfortable while I took the course.

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? Intermediate
How would you rate your language skills at the end of the program? Advanced
What was the highest level language course you had completed prior to departure? English
How many hours per day did you use the language? 10+
Do you have any tips/advice on the best ways to practice the language for future study abroad participants? Make friends! That is the best way to learn or just speak your language and have fun.

Comments: The course itself was very challenging. I had to catch up a lot of work because of the short time of the course and so many chapters to follow. However, the professor was very kind and helpful with his knowledge.
