Korea University: Seoul - International Summer Campus

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
The experience pushed me out of my comfort zone to meet new people from different cultures. Learnt a lot about independence and management of finances while falling in love with Seoul city as well. Definitely worthwhile!

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The syllabus was well spread out and class time was perfect, not too much information per class.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

All questions well addressed by KU! Information was all provided without even having to query. Relieved most of my worries!

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Found off-campus housing through the internet and loved it! An easy 5 minutes walk to school.

* Food:

Variety of Korean food available in the neighbourhood around campus! Many local finds.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Was not particularly close with any native Korean but appreciated the cultural activities planned, had an allocated Korean buddy who helped answer some of my questions!

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

Did not have a personal experience with healthcare but the health centre information was stated in the guidebook. Language interpretation services were provided.

* Safety:

Very safe! Did not worry about being out alone at night at all.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Summer was a good mix of fun and school! School was not particularly exhausting and there was many other fun activities to do.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Eating out is an estimated $5-8 per meal, groceries were not that cheap either
