What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned some tricks to living cheaply in Europe. I would do the same program again, but I don't think I need to go back to Spain again on my own.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Workload was fairly easy. Grading system was comparable. Teaching methods reflected the teachers' experience - ranged from excellent to terrible.

It was great to have a lot of freedom to travel.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

All arranged beforehand by program, and I had an American room mate. I was treated very well, but there were a lot of rules.

* Food:

I was served too much food every day.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Trips to Toledo, Madrid, Salamanca, and Segovia Province. Apprenticeship with a local artisan. Film viewing.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

My room mate got really sick for a couple of days and not much was done.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? With travel included, I spent about 20 Euros a week
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Buy food at a super market, and don't equate Euros with Dollars.

Language acquisition improvement?

No one spoke English. My classes were in Spanish, my host family spoke Spanish, and I interacted with the locals on a daily basis.
