The class was interesting to me; and I have always wanted to go to the Paris.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

The pocket money that they told us to take was more than enough for food and souvenirs. Most people didn't even use it all.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? I spent $320 dollars of my own and $200 that was given to us for lunch money.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Don't buy a lot of souvenirs, they are expensive. A couple of things and tons of pictures are enough. Besides, if you buy a lot, you might struggle to pack it when you come back. Also, eat cheap; and count your money so that you know how much you can safely spend per day; Save what you didn't use instead of rolling it over to the next day.

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • The people that I went with
  • The foods that we ate
  • The places that we visited
* What could be improved?
  • the directors and professors should encourage us to get to know some locals (I know this can be dangerous if you become friends with the wrong people, but it can also be an incredible oportunity to expand horizons).
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I wish they had emphasized how important it is to have a phone that works with some data. . It was nearly impossible to go anywhere if you have no access to a connected map; or if you cannot call anyone if anything were to go wrong.
