iXperience Lisbon – Summer Courses and Internships in Full Stack Coding, or Management Consulting

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I thought that overall iXperience was an incredibly enriching experience. I took the full stack coding course and learned so much (learning how to build front/back-end applications/APIs/databases/applications in multiple frameworks etc...). Would highly recommend to anyone interested in getting into web/software development! It was very worthwhile.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The administration was run very well at Lisbon. The program director and legal assistant lived very close to the accommodation and were able to tend to students very quickly should the need arise.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

We stayed at one of the most highly rated hostels in Lisbon. There was a full kitchen and multiple hangout spaces.

* Food:

Students were responsible for providing for themselves during the stay.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Students mainly work on projects/assignments throughout their time at Lisbon. However, weekends are free, and students are allowed to explore the surrounding towns as they wish. iXperience even provides included excursions to certain sites as well.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

I ended up getting sick during the program, but fortunately the staff responded very well to my needs. I was able to see a doctor very fast.

* Safety:

I didn't run into any safety issues during the program.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

The course was organized very well given the duration of the course.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Weekly expenditures mainly included providing food for yourself.
