What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Being abroad made me more aware of the day to day. Outside of my comfort zone, I took in more and was eager to take in any knowledge given to me.

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 0-2 weeks

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

I have never been challenged like I was at iX. Because we only had a month to learn very complex topics, the class moved quickly. However, I was constantly engaged and never felt like I was being left behind.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

* Food:

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

There are so many opportunities to learn more about the culture and to be engaged in the community! I wish I had taken more advantage of this early on.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Cape Town isn't the safest city, but I never felt like I was in danger. The program does a good job of informing you of how to conduct yourself and we were always in large groups.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

iX has so many different programs to offer. Seeing my friends in all the various classes and hearing them talk about their projects made me want to learn how to code, or build a website, or even make a financial model.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

It was more expensive than I expected, but I think that I did some frivolous spending.

Language
