Overall Experience
Improved spanish skills, gained independence - Truman State University View Entire Review
Studying abroad was definitely the most challenging experience of my life. However, it was also one of the most beneficial things I have ever done, because I learned so much about myself and gained confidence in my capabilities to speak the Spanish language and complete tasks independently. You can not find a better way to com... - Nebraska Wesleyan University View Entire Review
Absolutely. I gained more from my experiences outside of the program and with the locals. It has cemented my plans: to study developmental economics and go to graduate school. - Kansas State University View Entire Review

Yes. And it would be impossible to put it all into words......A much deeper appreciation for other cultures, not just Uruguay because I interacted with people from all over the world in the program. My time in Montevideo was very well spent. I felt like I was able to learn more about and experience a culture that I knew almost nothing about prior to my arrival. I learned to be more independent and gained a lot of con... - Western Washington University View Entire Review
Don't get me wrong, I loved Uruguay and the people there. I think if I had gone to a University other than Universidad Catolica, I would have loved it even more. My host family made the experience more than I could have hoped for, helping me improve my Spanish, get around, and explore other countries. Just ranking the school,... - Nebraska Wesleyan University View Entire Review

My experience was definitely worthwhile. I gained understandings of how global the world is becoming and how similar yet completely different cultures can be. I realized that there are no wrong ideas just different ones. - Nebraska Wesleyan University View Entire Review

About

Montevideo, capital of Uruguay, is no ordinary port city. It is filled with WWII history, museums, a still standing gate to an old Spanish fort, and of course, Universidad Catolica del Uruguay. The University offers up the chance to take classes such as business, education, and sociology, but in a way that helps you master the Spanish language! If that isn’t enticing enough, Uruguay is home to many beaches and a year-round mild climate that begs students to visit.
