I gained an understanding of living in another country and experiencing another culture beyond food and daily habits. I learned how another culture approaches certain political problems.

Not the most organized of programs. Left to figure some important things out yourself.

Fantastic city, good location of dorms to the campus.

Lots of starches and pork and beef in Germany.

Very safe

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes


* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

It's a pretty cheap city to live in for 4 weeks. Similar prices to America on groceries and restaurants. Lots of cheap, good restaurants for students in Marburg.

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Buy a couple of groceries for lunch or occasional dinner and snacks. If you buy bottled water, buy the big 1,5L bottles in a supermarket. Very cheap. Or you can drink from the tap. The water is safe.
