Kerala’s Western Ghats is considered as one of the biodiversity hot spots of the world. The richness of its spices and endemism attracts scholars of natural history to Kerala to understand its biodiversity, conservation methodologies, natural resource management practices and environmental issues of a tropical country.

Kerala known as “God’s own country” is ranked as one of the top ten paradises of the world. And visitors from far and wide flock to this tiny state of India on the south western coast. IISAC has developed opportunities for American professors to conduct faculty –led programs in Tropical Biodiversity and Ecology during summer months and Christmas holidays. American students can conduct various introductory to advanced level projects in IISAC’s affiliated research intuitions and field schools in Kerala.

This India program is ideal for students of undergraduate and graduate studies in Biology, Natural Resource management, Environmental Sciences, Tropical Diseases, Pollution Biology, Sustainable development and Development studies.

Projects and courses are available throughout the year on an individual basis and credits from 3-15 can be transferred to their home universities. Included in the program are; cultural immersion activities, field visits and forest stay. It is one of the most affordable programs in US.
