Overall Experience
I learned how to be comfortable with the unknown. I was on a different continent, speaking another language, and living with people I did not know beforehand. It is quite difficult when you do not fully understand the language yet, but that is why you have to go in the first place. By the end of my six weeks, I gained newfound c... - Brandeis University View Entire Review
I learned a lot about the political and social structure of a foreign country. It was definitely worthwhile because it gave me a better picture of what the United States' place in the world is like. It was a very enlightening experience to live in a major city and see how the natives navigate their daily lives. - The University of Texas at Austin View Entire Review
A sense of independence, a grasp of a different culture and different dialect of Spanish than I had known previously, and new knowledge about Argentina, its history, and its culture. - Brandeis University View Entire Review
A student studying abroad with IFSA: Buenos Aires - Advanced Language and Culture in Buenos Aires
Buenos Aires is an exciting city rich with culture and history. I learned so much about Argentine politics, Castellano (Buenos Aires' form of Spanish), and Argentine custom. It was worth every moment and I would do it all again in a heartbeat. - Brandeis University View Entire Review
Incredible language skills, fantastic cultural experience, lifelong friendships, great memories. Would do everything again, exactly the same in a heartbeat. Only bad thing was that it ended. - Brandeis University View Entire Review
I was able to improve my Spanish speaking abilities and confidence in speaking the language - Brandeis University View Entire Review
I learned to be a more considerate and open person. There is so much kindness to spread! The language (Spanish) is so expressive and beautiful! - The University of Texas at Austin View Entire Review
I gained a greater oral and aural understanding of Spanish and I learned how to navigate a 3.5 million city by myself. - Trinity University View Entire Review
First of all, I improved and became more comfortable speaking Spanish. The entire program was worthwhile because I had the chance to learn about a culture that doesn't have much representation in other countries. By that I mean that Argentine culture is often not presented in Spanish classes in the USA. I was very glad to partic... - Trinity University View Entire Review
I learned a lot about Argentina but if I could study abroad again I would choose a completely different country! No use going to the same place twice - University of Wisconsin - Madison View Entire Review
I learned too much to type out. It was definitely worthwhile. Life-changing. But, it's really what you make it. I really tried to adapt and immerse myself and that helped immensely. I think it's a must for all university students. - Trinity University View Entire Review
Yes. I think I need a month or two more to really master the language though - The University of Texas at Austin View Entire Review
