What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
It was absolutely worthwhile! I gained cultural knowledge, as well as developed a greater sense of awareness. I made friends and I still keep in touch with my roommates from the program. Furthermore, I absolutely fell in love with Ireland. It is filled with charming, caring, and diverse people. The scenery is so breathtaking that it leaves you speechless!

I absolutely loved IES Dublin. The staff is incredibly helpful, filled with kind and compassionate people. They were always offering to help – whether that be with academics or weekend travel plans. The classes kept me engaged and the professors were absolutely amazing.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Finding ways to save money is key. I often bought my meals cheaply at the grocery store, as opposed to eating out. However, I also did a lot of weekend traveling. Everyone will choose to spend their money in different ways, so it's just important to decide where you want to spend and where you want to save.

Reasons For Studying Abroad

The Avid Adventurer
The wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal.
