What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I became a much better Spanish speaker, gained a more worldly view, learned to be more easy-going, became more independent, a prepared traveler, and gained more knowledge about Spain.

I highly recommend a homestay, I can't imagine my semester any other way.

The Catalans are not a very outgoing group of people.

Be careful not to leave your phone, wallet, purse, or backpack anywhere unsupervised. You will be a target and they will steal your things.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

IES Abroad is a very organized program with a good academic coursework level.

  • A weekly or monthly newsletter that communicates happenings and holidays celebrated in the city
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? That my classes at Universitat Pompeu Fabra were only filled with students who were attending American universities. I would have liked to have been placed with locals.
