What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
It was defintiely worthwhile. I learned alot about the issue. People I met during the couse were all great and I miss them so much now. I was influenced by those people and things learned in the course.... Now I became more aware of the issue and want to study more about this field in grad school. I also want to try another study abroad if it's possible! This is how much I love the study abroad and worthwhile for you!

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

This was a great opportunity to meet lots of great people from different parts of the world and exchange the opinions with them. You can hear various lectures related to the issue of nuclear weapon and also have an opportunity to listen to the talk from survivors of the atomic bombing. This was a great experience and really changes your perspective of life. It is amazing that you can have such a meaningful time and life-changing experience in such a shor time.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The course was very organized, many interesting activities hosted by the students from HCU. It might be helpful to do a research for the discussion topic ahead of time so that you can use the discussion time more effectively.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I had a super great and awesome hostfamily. Host father and mother are very kind to us, kids are very sweet, and food was very delicious! I could get to the school without transferring the buses, so it was easy to commute everyday. It took about 40 min to get to school but I didn't feel it was long.

* Food:

Japnese food is great!

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

We had many non-academic activities, like weekend trip to the world heritage site, after shool activities to do some games, and other activities to go out for dinner and Karaoke. It was very fun and we all now become lifetime friends!

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

It a safe city and people there are just very friendly.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

Language acquisition improvement?

We have lectures and discussions in English. There is one language class in the first day of the course, but you don't really need Japanese since all the participants and hostfamilies use English to communicate.

Direct Enrollment/Exchange

* Did you study abroad through an exchange program or did you directly enroll in the foreign university? Exchange
