Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 1 month - 6 months

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Moderate workload, a grading system on a scale of 7, the course are more intensive but they count for more credits.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

There were support services in place but I didn't really utilize them.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I stayed in the Griffith University Village which was the convenient on-campus type apartment housing. It was perfect for meeting new people but there are cheaper options that are also closer to the beach.

* Food:

Very americanized, with similar diversity and shortcomings. Fish and chips shops are actually quite good.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

The people are so friendly in Australia and there was also an international group that did events. Everyone loved to relax and have fun.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

My host city was safe and health was never an issue for me there.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? Each week I would say I could spend about $40 on food if I didn't eat out but going out to social events is expensive if you drink a lot.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Shop smart, learn to cook for yourself is much cheaper than eating out. Pregame and go to happy hour.

Language

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? None
