Beautiful Experience Past Review

By (LaSalle University) - abroad from 11/12/2016 to 02/28/2016 with

Global Experiences: Internships in New York City, USA

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I've learned to be more responsible and be more independent. Other technical skills were enhanced, but what I got out most of my experience is definitely on an interpersonal and intrapersonal level. And it definitely was worthwhile.

The New York City culture and diversity is something I've never seen before nor will I ever see in any other place.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? I spent $20 a day on food. Other expenses were rather costly, but that is to be expected because New York's cost of living is higher than most states.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Keep a journal and write it down. It will definitely help you find a pattern on how to budget.
