Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

There was no easily accessible library, nor desks in our flats, which made it difficult to find someplace to study.

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • The independence we were given.
* What could be improved?
  • The quality of the flats, because the location was great. The professors and the pre departure meetings could be more informative - they did not prepare me at all for what was to come.
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? That I would not be taking classes with local students.

Comments: It was not a challenging class, but I struggled with the class because the professor refused to teach. He would stand at the front of the room reading off of a power point slide. He never explained anything further than the book did or try to help us understand any of the theories with real world examples. It was a rarity if he ever went over sample problems for us; we typically had to ask him numerous times to go over something in more detail, and even then he did so very reluctantly. It is my honest opinion that he did not want us to succeed in his class, or he was indifferent to our performance in his class.
