Because I had no research experience before EuroScholars, the program literally taught me everything I know now about the research process. It definitely is worthwhile.

Academically, I learned a lot about the specific field that I want to go into for graduate school. Personally, I learned how to better time manage and to live a more laid back yet organized -- the Dutch love their agendas! -- lifestyle.

The program is especially designed for undergraduate (Honors) students from US / Canadian institutions who are interested in discovering their potential for a research career. A GPA of 3.4 or higher is also required. EuroScholars offers unique opportunities to spend a semester as a junior researcher at one of the top European research institutions. Supervision will be provided by academic staff, working on and/or responsible for the Research Project. The curriculum will consist of the Research Project (main element), literature review (independent study), elective (if applicable), and a language and culture course at the host university. Students can earn up to a maximum of 30 ECTS (equivalent to 15 US semester credits). Each semester a central European Midstay Program (2-3 days) is organized for all EuroScholars students.
The EuroScholars Consortium awards a limited number of grants of € 2500 per semester to help lower-income students and students with disabilities in line with the diversity policy of the European Consortium of EuroScholars.
The EuroScholars Grants are counted towards the payment of the EuroScholars Program Fee. (students will receive an invoice for the remaining amount)
Students participating in more than one semester will only be eligible to receive the grant once.
Only full applications will be considered.
1 April 2021 and 1 October 2021 (NOTE: these are also the regular application deadlines for admission to the program)
