For twenty years, Hong Kong has been the site of the Asia-America Institute in Transnational Law because it is a major financial and legal center in Asia.  Duke Law School has relocated its 2003 Asia-America Institute in Transnational Law from Hong Kong to the Kyushu Faculty of Law in Fukuoka, Japan.
