It was definitely a worthwhile experience. I really learned how to push myself out of my comfort zone and I think this experience really helped me solidify who I am.

Copenhagen is a vey expensive place to be. There are so many things to see and do and most of them are not free. Plus, you're so close to so many other wonderful places, so you end up spending a lot on travel and food on those trips as well.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? At least $100-$150
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Limit your spending on coffee and grab-and-go kinds of food. It doesn't sound like much, but those expanses add up fast.

* What did you like most about the program?
  • The people (locals)
  • The course integrated study tour
* What could be improved?
  • Structure of some of the classes
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I wish I had known some of the Danish language. Almost everyone in Copenhagen speaks English fluently, but I wish I had at least known a little bit of Danish. For example, it would have been nice to be able to order a meal in Danish or join in a conversation with some of the people I have met.

Reasons For Studying Abroad

To help future students find programs attended by like-minded individuals, please choose the profile that most closely represents you.
The Nearly Native or Trail Blazer
Craving the most authentic experience possible, perhaps you lived with a host family or really got in good with the locals. You may have felt confined by your program requirements and group excursions. Instead, you'd have preferred to plan your own trips, even skipping class to conduct your own 'field work.'
