Amazing Summer Abroad in Copenhagen! Past Review

DIS Summer in Scandinavia

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned a lot about Danish culture and I really think Americans could learn a lot from the Danes. They are so much more relaxed and so much more efficient in almost everything they do. There is not nearly as much stress involved in the daily lives of Danes and they are just a much happier, healthier culture in general.

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • Immersion into the city/Danish culture
  • My first class/teacher (New Media + Collaborative Futures)
  • Field Studies/Study tours
* What could be improved?
  • My second class (Medical Biotechnology + Drug Development) - Too much to fit in too little time
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I wish I knew more about Danish culture so that I would be more suited to fit in when I came. They dress so nicely and I mostly brought T-shirts and shorts so I was never dressed nicely enough to fit in with the Danes. I also wish I knew more about all the amazing things in Copenhagen beforehand so I could have started exploring them from day one!
