Review Your Program
|
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
Was not too rigorous, but definitely felt challenged at times. Good balance. |
|
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
|
|
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
It was great to be by people in my program and friends from home, but the main complaint was with the laundry machines. They rarely worked and often left me paying for my own laundry. |
| * Food: |
It took some getting used to. Just really expensive. |
|
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
Very different from the US, and involved a lot of drinking. |
|
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
I was able to find a doctor, but insurance didn't cover it. |
| * Safety: |
Never felt unsafe. |
| If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
This program blended familiarity with friends I knew from school and new experiences with meeting folks from other states and countries. I was able to take fun trips, learn cool things, and explore with little stress. |
Finances
|
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
I spent wayyyy to much on simple groceries. The card ran out in February, simply buying produce. Traveling took the most expenses. |
| Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | $70 |
