I luckily did not have to utilize any health services, but DIS made sure I was covered in case I should need to.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Denmark is a delightful change of pace from American college campuses. DIS provided support for every aspect of abroad, but there was so much room to branch out and explore on my own as well.

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

Do you have any tips/advice on the best ways to practice the language for future study abroad participants? It wasn't necessary to use Danish, but it was a fun way to show Danes I was interested in getting to know them.

  • Commute stipend could have been allocated in a more flexible way, but DIS is working on making it more flexible.
  • Would have liked to know Study Tour details ahead of time
  • I was in a new Core Course, so there is some growing to do in developing the class.
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Now I know that I might have really enjoyed living with a host family, but I am still really glad I got to live with students and visit a host family

The wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal.
