What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
It made me realize I can follow my dremas so long as I believe in myself and stop casting self-doubt.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Courses were intellectually engaging, but the grading wasn't too strenuous.

DIS was perfect through their administration offices. awesome people.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I lived in DOWNTOWN Copenhagen in a 300yr building (renovate of course), and I had a 30 second walk to class. How does it get any better?

* Food:

All the food I cooked tasted beautiful.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I got to meet and interact with locals on numerous occasions. Some of my professors were Danish professionals. I also met locals through clubs that the program put on (MOVIE CLUB). I got to volunteer at the Copenhagen Film Festival, and thus got to coordinate with work crew and staff members local to copenhagen.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

FREE HEALTHCARE YO! I GOT A DOCTOR'S VISIT, AND I GOT AN ICE RAY ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. BEAUTIFUL. SPECTACULAR. HOW IT SHOULD BE.

* Safety:

One of the safest cities in the world. Statistical reports prove this.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

DIS has a lot of funding. a lot. Weeks paid trip out to London all included, plus we took a 4 day trip to the second and third biggest cities of Denmark. All academic related, but there were perks included. We got to visit the Guardian, and saw the live action play Aladdin in London. Also we had high tea in london. When we went to visit other cities in Denmark, we were served steak and indian food. Every function at DIS that I went to allowed for one alcoholic drink on the house. They supported us so much! Additional Perk: Maintenance was so easy and simple to contact. You literallyfill out a form and they come to your flat within days.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

CPH is the 10th most expensive city in the world.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? ~150
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Don't eat out every night the first two weeks. Pick and choose. If you do choose to eat out, choose to do so when in bigger groups. The amount of money you spent on the food is therefore more memorable because it was with others.

The Networker
An active student leader, it was important for you to network abroad as well. Once overseas, you sought out student clubs, volunteered with local organizations, or attended community events. You encouraged your friends join you, and often considered how you could reflect your international experiences in a resume.
