I stayed with a host family, so I did not have to pay for my own food expenses most of the time. Also, DIS paid for all of my transportation while in Copenhagen! If you don't stay with a host family, DIS gives you a money stipend! This helps alleviate a cost burden on food and personal expenses.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? 100

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
How much did the program encourage you to use the language?

0 = No encouragement, 5 = frequent encouragement to use the language

We practiced Danish in almost every class. I had a fantastic professor, Jan Rassmusen. He was so lively and made learning Danish so much fun. We learned how to say basic things and it was more practices and talking based learning that reading from a text book. I found that by the end of the semester, I could read basic Danish pretty well!
