I did not find DIS particularly great in any way - I did not have a good housing situation, the classes were somewhat mediocre, the social situation was complex, etc. Mostly, it was a fabulous home base to explore Europe from

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • Travel opportunities

  • Copenhagen is a cool city
* What could be improved?
  • Housing was not acceptable
  • Mandatory Danish class was not a productive use of time or resources
  • I did not feel I had much support from DIS
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I should not have done the kollegium housing option. I should not have spent the money on an international phone or on renting a bike (it was too cold to ride the 30 minutes to school until my last 2 weeks)

Reasons For Studying Abroad

The Avid Adventurer
The wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal.
