Review Your Program

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Not as difficult as my classes back at my home university, but were still challenging.

On-site administration of your program

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

* Food:

Food stipend did not last the whole four months.

Copenhagen is extremely safe.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

I wouldn't trade my experience in Denmark for anything. DIS supplied a lot to its students, especially in the study tours.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

I knew going into studying abroad that Copenhagen was extremely expensive. So, I knew I had to budget my money.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? $100
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Budget your money in advance

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • Travel weeks
  • Copenhagen
  • Living options
* What could be improved?
  • Wifi in my dorm had a limit, so every month we went over the limit and the wifi was too slow to function.
  • Professors expected a lot from their students, but didn't necessarily provide great guidelines for assignments.
  • My dorm did not have a freezer, which made living on a budget even harder because I could not buy groceries in bulk.
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Appreciate every second because it goes by so fast!
