What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I was in interior architecture foundations and it was a great intro to design school. it was very challenging but very rewarding

There was a lot of work but the professors were amazing and you learned a ton....worth the effort

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

* Food:

I lived in an apartment and just got a food stipend that could be used at certain stores. I liked it because I enjoy cooking.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

I never really needed any health care while i was there but other people I knew were taken care of. You get a temporary residence permit and health care is free

* Safety:

Just use common sense and don't walk the streets alone at night. other than that I was comfortable going anywhere on my own

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Copenhagen is expensive.

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? pack lunch...invest in reusable containers. Also explore outside of downtown Copenhagen...the neighborhoods around the area tend to be a bit cheaper... Nørrebro and Vesterbro are good places to check out

Danish is a really hard language. Everyone in Copenhagen speaks english

  • The study tours to the Netherlands and Germany
* What could be improved?
  • More interaction with Danes
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? You really need to seek out opportunities to interact with Danes. It's really easy to just stick to american friends
