Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

I learned a lot during my semester abroad, but I do believe it was too challenging at times because the workload was a lot.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The support system at DIS was great. I had many issues while abroad and the staff was very accommodating and helpful. I did think the program was way too big. DIS continues to accept more students, but they do not have adequate housing for everyone.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I was originally placed in very inadequate housing. I was so far away from the city and felt very unsafe where I was. The people were not very friendly and there were refugees and immigrant families living in the apartments as well.

* Food:

Cooking and getting food was easy.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I loved the travel excursions offered by DIS and they were a great way to make friends and see so many amazing places.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

NA

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Bring a lot of money with you. I was thankful for the DIS food stipend.
