DIS Copenhagen: Semester

Absolutely

Personal Information

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

DIS did not have the same workload as my home University but only because the Professors mainly only graded you based on mid-terms and a final paper. Personally I found this a better system of learning because I could read and study at my own pace. I also was able to pick the topic of my final paper for most of my courses so I was really interested and passionate about whatever I was writing about.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Organized website and helpful faculty

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

The housing was comfortable and the students I lived with were great. I wish I was able to live with more international or Danish students but I applied too late to get my priority housing.

* Food:

The stipend they provide will get you by but you will definently have to spend your own money on food.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

The study tours were my favorite part of the program. They were educational and cultural so I was exposed to parts of European countries that I would have never seen otherwise.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Extremely safe.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
Language acquisition improvement?

Most people in Denmark speak English and almost everyone you in encounter in Copenhagen does as well.
