Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

I had a fabulous teacher, Zulema Morales. We had opportunities for intercambios with residents, workshops in many different cultural and craft areas. The excursions were great.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

I never had any problems. I always had all the info I needed.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I stayed at the Posada de Los Angeles. It was great!!!

* Food:

Had no host family, but the food was stupendous!

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Fantastic!!!! Extra-curricullar activities -- intercambios, workshops and excursions -- were wonderful. There was not enough time to experience everything that was offered!

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

I always felt safe. We were given excellent advice by our institute and CCSF advisor about dietary cautions and street safety.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? No problems with money. ATM's were always available. Generally, the experience was well within my budget.

Language

Language acquisition improvement?

I came in knowing only the present tense. I left knowing four tenses. My listening and speaking improved greatly.

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Do it now!!!
