A Summer Full of Language and Discovery (and lots of Paella) January 24, 2020
By Emma Blystone (Instituto Franklin-UAH) - abroad from 06/02/2019 to 07/29/2019 with
CIEE: Alcala - Summer Language & Culture
My experience was incredibly worthwhile. I gained a new appreciation for different ways of living. I spent more time outside. I came to know the Madrid/Alcalá public transportation system like the back of my hand. I met two of my best friends in this program and through their friendship, was pushed to advance my Spanish communication skills. I learned to never take air conditioning for granted. I realized that one of my favorite books is now Cervantes' Don Quijote. My experience abroad opened my eyes to how much the world has to offer.
