WHAT: A Science course taught in English, Digital Manufacture, and a Spanish Language and Culture course. This science course will be taught at the the FabLab Madrid CEU, part of the MIT FabLab Network. It combines classes, lectures and visits, but it is basically a hands-on course. You will learn: computed aided design, computer controlled cutting, parametric design and computer controlled machining. Additionally, the course includes lectures by experts in digital fabrication for Architecture and Design and visits to different parts of Madrid, relevant to the content of the class. There will also be cultural and academic excursions within the city and a weekend trip to Valencia, on the Mediterranean coast
WHERE: Study at CEU San Pablo University, a private Spanish institution with an excellent reputation in the sciences, that has been an educational institution for the past 80 years, that offers a small class environment and integrated training for students. Live in a student dorm in the university area of Madrid, a cosmopolitan and multicultural city with a lively cultural and social atmosphere.
WHO: Students with majors in Engineering, Design or Architecture.
WHY: To experience firsthand immersion in a European scientific environment while you learn and improve your command of Spanish.
