Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

I did not really study for my classes abroad.. just showing up to class and participating prepared me enough. I learned a TON!

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

I think this is just an aspect of Spanish culture, not my program, but it seemed to take forever to get anything done.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I absolutely, absolutely loved my host family. I lived a little far from the barrio, which was only a mild inconvenience. Beyond that.. food was fantastic, place was so nice, I felt right at home. I miss it!

* Food:

My host mom was an AMAZING cook! I definitely ate too much, though.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I loved everyone in my program, we had so much fun. I did TONS of traveling! Hanging out outside of class was, really, the best part of the trip.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

I got bronchitis while I was there. I refreshed my medical vocabulary and went to the doctor. The only thing I didn't like was how expensive the medication they gave me for it was!

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I recommend staying for a year. My biggest regret is only staying for one semester!
