Best decision I have ever made Past Review

Broward: Japan & Singapore - Business Culture of Asia

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
It was definitely worthwhile. Given the opportunity I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. Watching videos online or documentaries, will never be the same as being there. Exploring with your classmates and sometimes by yourself. They have discipline in all they do and always strive for perfection. Ethical and utilitarian people who believe in Karma and the cleanness of their body mind and soul.

Inform yourself as much as you can about the country you are planning to visit. Follow all the instructions your professors give you and always practice general cautions procedures. If the country you are going to visit is Japan or Singapore, disregard all i have said. They are some of the world's safest country and the people are supper nice and helpful.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

I loved everything about the countries I visited. I wish I can one day returned on my own since I already finished school and bring my family. They are extremely clean and organize. I felt comfortable eating and drinking their water. None of us ever got sick. I loved the culture, traditions, believe, atmosphere, weather, peacefulness, sense of security and willingness to help from the locals in both countries.

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

We had no budget. Everyone took the amount of money advised by the professors based on the amount of days we were going to be there fore. We all had extra money for souvenirs and meals not were not included on the package.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? some days depending on the location we visited, I spent between $60-80 USD. Some other days nothing because everything was included.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Not really. everyone is different but, If you like to shop, just try to save as much as you can. I even brought back coffee when I went. I wanted to buy the entire country.

0 = No encouragement, 5 = frequent encouragement to use the language

We all knew a few words and were eager to used them every time we had the opportunity. But in Singapore, they have 4 official languages including english. They were fluent en English.

How many hours per day did you use the language? 0
Do you have any tips/advice on the best ways to practice the language for future study abroad participants? If you are by yourself, use Google translate if you have access to wifi. But usually the group will use a tourist guide who's speaks your language perfectly. No need to worry about that.
