About

Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) is one of the most reliable jobs an English speaker can get in the sizzling city of Buenos Aires, Argentina—but going it alone can be a risky prospect.

Wouldn’t it be great if there were a way to develop your teaching skills, improve your Spanish, and tap into a preexisting job network, all while immersing yourself in the energy and excitement of one of the most dynamic cities on Earth? That’s where Bridge’s classic International Diploma in English Language Teaching (IDELT™) program comes in.

Our month-long, globally-accredited TEFL certification program combines teacher training and certification with Spanish language classes and job placement assistance, giving you everything you need to build your capacities and confidence and land a great job in South America’s capital of cool.

The international leader in foreign language instruction, Bridge has designed a program that will do more than provide a top-caliber, comprehensive training in teaching English. We’ll also help you feel comfortable in an amazing new city. From airport pick-ups and painless housing arrangements to guided visits to the city’s most interesting sites, we’ll make sure that Buenos Aires is your oyster.

Let Bridge handle the details—so you can focus on building the skills you’ll need for global teaching success!

What makes Buenos Aires unique?

Buenos Aires’ riverfront Ecological Reserve isn’t just a hikeable, bikeable escape from urban density—it’s also a testament to nature’s resilience. Just thirty years ago, the area that now forms the Reserve was a pile of rubble, dumped into the river as part of the last military dictatorship’s plan for a new industrial zone.

When the regime ran out of money and abandoned the area, nature quickly took over, turning mounds of broken brick and twisted metal into a lush Pampas grassland. Today, the Reserve is larger than New York’s Central Park and home to dozens of exotic bird, reptile, and plant species. But traces of the past remain. Head to where the Reserve meets the river and you’ll find a beach made of rubble, not sand—a reminder of the park’s unconventional history!
The Bridge IDELT™ (International Diploma in English Language Teaching) is an intensive, 140-hour course that prepares you to teach English anywhere in the world.

IDELT™

As an IDELT™ trainee, you’ll benefit from our decades of international experience training teachers and students. IDELT™ graduates will finish the course with a better understanding of the English language, practical experience with a variety of teaching techniques, and confidence in the classroom. The IDELT™ provides 140 contact hours between the trainee, the course trainer(s), peers, and EFL/ESL students. Course components include the following: essential subject knowledge given in input sessions (interactive lecture classes), teaching practice with real language learners, classroom observation of experienced teachers, and several written assignments. This comprehensive course is designed for candidates with no previous English teaching experience, but is also suitable for those who have some experience but no formal training in the TEFL field.

The IDELT™ program has been approved by ACCET (Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training) and is recommended for credit at over 1,500 universities by PONSI (University of the State of New York National Program on Noncollegiate Sponsored Instruction). This means that the IDELT™ was evaluated by a team of subject matter experts and found comparable to college instruction. The IDELT™ has been recommended for six graduate-level semester hours as an elective or as a teaching practicum in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).
