Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Courses could be very challenging, as there was a lot of independent work in the course load. And this was with only taking four classes instead of the standard 5.

On-site administration of your program

All of the classed and administration at the school were very good. Everyone was very helpful, patient, and willing to answer questions or deal with problems whenever I needed something. It could be as small as dealing with a few ants in the common room to figuring out closing procedures at the end of the semester.

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Housing was a standard freshman dorm room. Everyone had single bedrooms in a wing, with a shared common room and bathroom to each hall. There were other, somewhat better options on campus. Bentley puts all of the Bentley exchange students right near each other (at least this is how is was when I was there) which was okay, but I preferred to be a bit more separated to feel more immersed.

Food in the cafeteria, which you have to eat on the meal plan, is so-so. There menu only changes once or twice in the whole semester, so there isn't a lot of variety, But I did have a few choice meals that I enjoyed eating over and over, as the quality of the food wasn't bad.

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

I only rank this in the middle because I never had to deal with health care during the program. I only had a minor cold and took care of it myself.

Things in general are very expensive in Australia compared to home, food included. It makes some things pretty expensive. But you learn to just go without somethings for the semester.

• The location, the gold coast is beautiful, with tons of things to do, and several different public transportation options.
• The classes, though they could be quite a challenge, were great for experiencing a different way of teaching, and a different level of work ethic expectations.
• The people. Everyone I met, whether American, Australian or foreign, was great. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and welcoming. I made some very good friends there.

• Class scheduling, my classes got kind of mixed up because of problems with prerequisites not going through. I ended up in a class I didn't originally want, and didn't end up liking.
• I didn't always know who to go to when I had a question; there weren't really obvious places for certain issues. And the school's website has almost no information. For example, my air condition broke and I had to idea what to do about it, I just had to go around and ask a bunch of different places until someone did something about it.
• Housing options; I wish we had the in general. There are several different options on campus, but instead our school just assigns us somewhere. I wish we had more of a choice.
