What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I gained new friends, new experiences and a vast amount of global medicine. Being able to compare American medicine and Spanish medicine was enlightening!

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • Opportunities! We had so many different chances and areas to get involved with the local hospital
  • Hands on! We were able to meet patients and doctors and discuss real health care situations
  • Cultural Emersion! We were able to live in a hostel with an actual Spanish family.
* What could be improved?
  • More opportunities for community service to engage with the community
  • Spanish lessons!
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I wish I studied Spanish and prepared myself more to be working in an environment that was primarily in Spanish. Although background knowledge is not necessary, it helps you to learn some key phrases and sayings to feel like a real part of the culture!
