Arcos Learning Abroad in Healthcare & Medical Spanish in Argentina (Academia Buenos Aires)

Join Arcos for this very practical and hands-on academic program for students interested in the health sciences! All students take 3 credits of Medical Spanish at the Intermediate or Advanced levels. The Medical Spanish class is designed to improve your communication skills while learning useful Medical Spanish terminology. The 3 credit Healthcare course introduces students to the healthcare systems in Argentina (public and private) through hospital visits and lectures. All students will have two weeks of Medical Shadowing in a healthcare setting. Add on two more weeks to this four week program for more Medical Shadowing. 

In addition to the academic focus of the program, Arcos provides a fully immersive cultural experience. On the weekends participate in engaging excursions such as a visit to an authentic Argentine Cowboy Ranch, traveling by boat on the canals of the El Tigre River Delta, and exploring the neighboring country of Uruguay and the UNESCO World Heritage site of Colonia. Students get acquainted with the local culture by touring museums, vibrant neighborhoods, and open-air markets such as San Telmo; as well as taking a tango dance class, learning about the tradition of Maté tea, and much more. Housing is with carefully selected homestays.
