Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

I thought the work load and the teaching methods were both very similar to the American educational system.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Teh Arcadia staff was amazing! They all came from unique backgrounds and were very helpful in assisting everyone's needs.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Surry Hills, within Sydney.

We were very close to nightlife and we didn't have to buy very many items in order to settle in, most items were already in the apartment.

* Food:

Food is much more expensive than in America.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

We took a trip to the Blue Mountains and I also spent a week in Goodooga on a cultural immersion program. It was nice to be able to travel a little bit while I was in Australia.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Everyone who had health issues seemed to find the doctor easily.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? I wouldn't eliminate anything, but make sure you bring more money than they tell you to bring!

Language

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? None
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?
