Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 0-2 weeks

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

i have never worked so hard on studying for exams and on assignments as i did abroad. It was harder but I also was very motivated to do well.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I lived on Arcadia Student Center. I personally loved it. living with 12 people could be difficult at times with people who are messy and don't clean after themselves but overall it was a great experience.

* Food:

I missed American Pizza!!!

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I felt like i was definitely a part of the culture. However i feel like i met more international people and students rather than Australians.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

Did not need any health care

* Safety:

my host city felt very safe. i truly admire australia's gun control laws. i have also never felt so safe walking alone at night time.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

I lovvvvved Melbourne and the school I went to and the people i met. I loved the town i lived in, St Kilda and already miss is dearly.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

I did spend a lot while abroad however i never had to ask my parents for money which would have been an option. I did expect to spend a lot as well.

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? save reciepts and track how much you spend per week! my selected budget was 200$ per week. if i went over one week, i would spend less the following week.

The Networker
An active student leader, it was important for you to network abroad as well. Once overseas, you sought out student clubs, volunteered with local organizations, or attended community events. You encouraged your friends join you, and often considered how you could reflect your international experiences in a resume.
