London is the Most Amazing City to Study Abroad In and I Plan On Moving There Past Review

By (accounting, Bryant University) for

Arcadia: London - University of Westminster

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I wouldn't trade my experience for anything in the world.

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 1 month - 6 months

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Workload was only papers for me- I did not have a single test.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Arcadia did not seem as familiar with my University as it did with others around the city. I would have liked to have gone through a different program provider, but still at the University of Westminster.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

* Food:

Try out local pubs; supermarkets have essentially the same items as in America so its relatively easy to cook for yourself.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

we went to Windsor Castle during Orientation. Besides that, any trips that we wanted to go on w/ Arcadia we had to pay for.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Felt very safe and it was a very clean city compared to a lot of other parts of Europe. I got sick whilst abroad and the University of Westminster's Health Services helped me; not a difficult process.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • The city itself.
* What could be improved?
  • Better orientation.
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Try to explore more areas around London and England, rather than the typical "explore Europe" study abroad students do. You'll appreciate the English culture so much more.
