Lively, fun, with life long friends and some definitely memorable experiences. January 23, 2024

Arcadia: London - Queen Mary University of London

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
It was worthwhile. I learned I'm a lot extraverted than I thought and that I prefer to have roommates than to live alone. I always knew that I tend to thrive in big cities but that was just an assumption, this experience solidified that for myself.

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • The friends I made
  • the proximity to central london
  • how easy it was to travel to other european countries
* What could be improved?
  • communication of administrative staff at arcadia
  • the introductary week in london with arcadia was a bit lack lustre. Maybe add a pub night with everyone. Take out the boat ride.
  • a warning or something about the price of laundry being 10 pounds per load. That was by far the biggest "culture" shock my friends and I had.
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? That the internship included a class with coursework on top of internship itself. If I had known that I might not have done it. I loved interning with the company I was at but the class was not what I had signed up for and it took up more time than I anticipated.
