Arcadia: London - Arcadia in London

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I loved going over there and I loved my experience. I think I enjoyed it as much as I did because I made it a good time even with the horrible program I chose.

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 0-2 weeks

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The workload was extremely minimal at the beginning and extremely difficult at the end. The teachers were extremely involved through Arcadia London Now, but the teacher of the City University class was a joke. She never made any since to me and I found it very difficult to get involved and I also felt overwhelmed and behind in all the lectures and classes.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

I knew nothing prior to going abroad about England.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I hated our living arrangement. The only thing that I liked was that we were central and semi close to everything around..

* Food:

I had none.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

None. I made my own trips

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

I felt safe at times. The public transportation scared me though because of the previous attacks from the city.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Bring as much money as possible. Its expensive.

Language

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? None
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?
