Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 2 weeks - 1 month

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The teaching methods were a combination of lectures and seminars. I enjoyed this format. Also, the grading system was different in that a 75% was really the average grade. You had to put in extra work to get an "A". This was a refreshing change, and encouraged me to put in the extra effort to achieve the grade I desired. The workload was less than in the United States. I was in charge of when I needed to study and was not bothered with small weekly assignments.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Very accessible through email.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

My housing was a choice included with my program.

* Food:

The food was nothing short of restaurant quality.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I especially enjoyed my program trip to Byron Bay. I learned to surf and watched the sunrise from the most easterly point of Australia's mainland!

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

The Gold Coast was a very safe area. I did not need any vaccines before going there.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Save money! You are going to want to do many things when you study abroad and you do not want money to limit you.

Language

If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?
