What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
My study abroad experience was absolutely worthwhile. If you have the opportunity to go, definitely do it, you won't get a chance like this again.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Our program did a very good job with keeping in touch with us. They frequently emailed us about trips, updates, and on-campus news.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I lived in a 5-person apartment in Gort na Coiribe. My direct roommate was American, and my other 3 roommates with Irish girls. I loved everything about the apartment complex. Its a 10/15 minute walk to school and about a 20 minute walk into town.

Awesome

* Food:

The food was fine, basically the same as the food at home. We cooked at the apartment most of the time, but ordered take-out a lot towards the end of the semester.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Galway is the best place to study abroad. The city is very friendly with a huge student population and a great nightlife.
