API (Academic Programs International): London - University of the Arts, London

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned a lot about independence and responsibility. It encouraged me that I could go anywhere in the world and be ok. I met so many new friends and experienced so many fun things that I never would have if I hadn't gone.

I had 2 phones stolen while abroad. One at a restaurant/bar where I placed it on the table. One was pick pocketed at the train station.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

API was a great provider, I liked that they had so many events for us to attend. The student accommodations were also really nice and in a great area. The program at UAL was also really great. It was nice to be in classes with local students so I could make British friends and experience more of their culture.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? around $100
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Be frugal with your money: only eat out once and awhile, buy groceries to make your own meals instead of getting take out. Drinks are super expensive.
