About

Students on this program will have the opportunity to directly enroll at the American University in Dubai and normally will take 12-15 credits per semester. Students at AUD live in student residence halls on the incredibly international campus and have the opportunity to join clubs and activities on a beautiful campus in the heart of Dubai. Steps away from the Burj Khalifa, Global Village, the Persian Gulf, and a conveniently located metro stop, students have the entire city at their fingertips.

Academics:
With ABET, AACSB, NAAB and numerous other accreditations, AUD's many schools and departments allow students from a wide variety of academic majors to engage their disciplines with professors and peers from around the world in a MENA region context. The American University in Dubai is patterned on the American model of higher education and classes are taught in English, though students are welcome to take a 3-credit Arabic Language course while on campus.

AUD has six schools in which students may take a variety of courses:

  • School of Business Administration

  • School of Engineering

  • Mohammed Bin Rashid School for Communication (MBRSC)

  • School of Architecture, Art & Design

  • School of Arts & Sciences

  • School of Education



Certificate in Middle East Studies: 
Students who would like to develop a deeper understanding of the history, Arabic language, and culture of the Middle East region can consider pursuing this Certificate in Middle Eastern Studies. The certificate is an 18-19 credit hour program and more information about the program can be found on our website.

AMIDEAST Scholarships

Amideast Education Abroad students are selected to act as a "correspondents" for our semester and summer programs. These correspondents submit multiple blog entries while developing travel and creative writing skills. Students also critically reflect in writing on their education abroad experience with Amideast.

$1,000 (semester) or $500 (summer)

Deadlines:
Summer Programs - March 15 Fall Semester or Academic Year Programs - April 15 Spring Semester Programs - October 15

Guidelines/Requirements:
Complete all required items in the Student Portal by the term application deadline.

Amideast Education Abroad Need Based Scholarships are awarded based on the student's financial need, and can be given up to $3,000 for summer programs and $5,000 for semester programs. Awards may be disbursed as a tuition reduction, one-time bank transfer, or equal monthly on-site cash payments.

$500 - $5,000
