What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I gained valuable experience with the Arabic language and even more valuable understanding of the Arab culture. It was worthwile, but also worth the money. It's an expensive program, but AMIDEAST did everything right.

Great experience, but smoking is a part of almost every household, which negatively impacted my experience.

Kanaffa, shwarma, maqluba, all of it

I recommend learning some safety words before travelling, such as "stop," "help," etc.

Finances

Living is relatively cheap, but travelling gets very expensive.

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Learn about the bus routes in the city to avoid long (expensive) taxi rides.
