American College of Norway (ACN): Moss - Direct Enrollment & Exchange

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
After studying abroad, I have a much broader world view. I understand elements of different cultures that I never knew existed. Being abroad has made me a much more out-going people person. The friends and connections I made are those which will last a lifetime. Not a single day goes by where I don't talk to those friends and reminisce about the great times we had together.

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 2 weeks - 1 month

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Being that the classes were mostly generals, the workload was not particularly heavy, which was a good thing because you had more time to learn about the culture. You really do do most of your learning outside of the classroom.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Very helpful administration who understood the difficulties associated with studying in a foreign country.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

* Food:

There was no meal plan, students were responsible for buying and preparing their own food in the common kitchens.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Welcome weekend was a blast and a great way to make new friends. We also had movie nights, culture nights, and school barbeques.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Moss Norway is honestly among the safest cities on earth. I felt entirely safe walking around the city/surrounding area at any time of the day. We never had any prevalent health issues.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?

Direct Enrollment/Exchange
