American College Dublin: Irish Language & Culture Program

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
This was a life changing experience for me. I recommend any student who wants to study abraod to study at ACD in Ireland. Our living arrangements are amazing, surrounded by places to eat, go out, and walk to school. You are likly to make friends with people you will continue to keep in touch with. ACD professors understand that you are here to study and explore so they do not slam you with homework. All in all an AMAZING experience.

My host was extremely friendly and helpful. When we arrived he showed us around the city and checked on us periodically to make sure we were enjoying our time in Dublin. If we ever had an issues or questions he was always there to help or for answers.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

The apartment that we were set up with was amazing! It was located in Dubin City Center, just minutes away from grocery stores, shopping and the University.

* Food:

Considering Dublin is a city there are a variety of places to eat everywhere you turn. Cafes, resturants, fast food!

* Safety:

Its a very safe city, I never felt that I was in any type of danger.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Considering I spent such a long period of time in Dublin, I did a lot of travelling as well eating out a lot of restaurants to get the best of my experience. It is manageable to live here on a student budget.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? I spent a good amount because I ate out a lot, but you have a full kitchen in which you can buy grocies and eat at home which saves a lot of money
